IMT Atlantique, a leading generalist engineering school within the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom)—France's primary group of engineering schools aims to support major transitions, train responsible engineers, and place scientific and technical excellence at the service of education, research, and innovation.
As part of the project led by the SOTERN team in connection with the CREACHLABS grant—which aims to reconstruct, at the network traffic analysis equipment level, a byte stream consistent with the behavior of the monitored machine—we are recruiting a post-doctoral researcher within our Network Systems, Cybersecurity, and Law (SRCD) department.
In collaboration with the project team and experts from ANSSI , you will analyze network flow reassembly policies within firewalls and TLS interception tools. Your mission will be to design automated configuration mechanisms based on fingerprinting and machine learning to ensure traffic analysis remains faithful to the behavior of the monitored machines. Finally, you will validate your solutions through systematic experimental campaigns
✔️ You possess advanced skills in network protocols and cybersecurity .
✔️ You have experience with operating systems (Windows/Linux) and the use of traffic analysis tools .
✔️ Proficiency in Machine Learning techniques applied to networking is a plus.
✔️ You are curious and creative, demonstrating strong analytical skills and scientific rigor.
