The Directorate for Public Governance (GOV) leads the OECD’s work on public governance, supporting co-ordinated, innovative, international action across both domestic and global policy agendas. The Directorate implements the priorities of the Programme of Work and Budget (PWB) set by Member Countries and the Secretary-General in its area of responsibility.
GOV works across a broad range of policy areas to support governments in promoting good governance that enhances trust in institutions, improves the functioning of national economies and supports growth. It’s work is organised across eight divisions and focuses on helping governments at all levels design and implement strategic, evidence-based and innovative policies. Through this work, GOV supports countries in responding effectively to diverse and disruptive economic, social and environmental challenges and delivering on government’s commitments to citizens.
