Reporting directly to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, the primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems and components at the journey level of the plumbing trade.

Responsibilities

• Use power tools associated with plumbing trade, cutting and threading pipe, utilizing motorized and mechanical tools, and be familiar with building, life, and safety codes.
• Solder copper pipe and utilize standard tools and materials required for those procedures.
• Make material lists for projects and submit to supervisor for review.
• Make lead joints and install various types of plastic pipe; replace stainless steel and porcelain plumbing fixtures.
• Supervise semi‑skilled male offenders and respond to emergency call backs.

Qualifications

• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of commercial plumbing systems.

Salary Range

$39,244 - $68,679

Employment Details

Full‑time position (40 hours per week). May require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
