Job Description
We are looking for a Plasma Physics Expert at our Massy site, to support the rapid growth.
Attached to the R&D Team , you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving technical documents, both internally generated and with suppliers and customers.
- Leading specific activities linked with research activities on plasma science.
- Help develop the technical expertise of the team through the writing of best practices and design guidelines.
- Be the reference to define test plans, validation strategies and technological roadmap on plasma science.
- Identifying innovative technologies (material, manufacturing, product, …) or methodologies to be further studied.
- Mobilising resources for exploration of innovative technologies and methodologies.
Preferred Experience
Education: Master’s or PhD (preferred) in plasma science, electric propulsion, materials science, aerospace engineering.
- Strong experience (> 10 yr) in plasma science and plasma thruster design, from concepts to design reviews and assembly and testing activities, including proficiency in designing tests for thruster assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of the design of a complete propulsion system based on a plasma thruster.
- Strong experience in thruster assembly test systems development, test preparation, data processing.
- Strong experience in magnetics design tools (FEMM, Comsol).
- Experience with CAD software is preferred (Solidworks).
- Strong technical leadership in multi‑team technical meetings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with colleagues and external stakeholders.
