Piping Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Piping Manager to act as the technical authority for piping engineering on large-scale international industrial machinery projects.

This is a key leadership role where you will drive engineering excellence, coordinate global teams, and ensure the delivery of fully compliant, high-quality piping solutions on time and within budget.

Role Overview

As the lead for the piping discipline, you will be responsible for coordinating and validating engineering activities across internal teams and external partners. You will play a central role in ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with client requirements, standards, and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee piping engineering studies including layout, routing, 3D modelling (E3D), supports, isometrics, and BOM.
• Define technical inputs and scope for subcontracted studies.
• Ensure technical integrity, quality, and consistency of deliverables.
• Lead and organise the piping section (resources, workload, priorities).
• Manage internal teams and coordinate with external partners.
• Monitor deadlines, budgets, and planning.
• Support project bids and pre-project activities.
• Coordinate outsourced engineering and internal teams.
• Review and approve deliverables (3D models, drawings, isometrics).
• Implement QA processes, standards, and control checks.
• Identify risks, inconsistencies, and technical deviations.
• Act as the interface between engineering, project, site, and suppliers.
• Provide technical support to procurement and site teams.
• Develop and enhance engineering control and validation processes.
• Maintain and update piping standards and specifications.
• Contribute to tool development (E3D, automation, data processes).

Requirements

• Strong experience in industrial piping and plant layout.
• Proficient in 3D design tools (E3D preferred, SmartPlant or equivalent).
• Strong capability to review, challenge, and validate engineering output.
• Experience managing or working with outsourced engineering teams.
• Fluent in English and French (mandatory).
• Travel to international sites.
