The Pipeline Engineer supports engineering studies for rigid subsea pipelines, performing advanced numerical analyses and developing automated Python workflows. The role requires strong analytical skills, autonomy in technical execution, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical documentation that informs design decisions and project execution.
Missions
- Conduct FEA analyses on rigid subsea pipelines, including:
- Lateral buckling assessments
- Pipeline walking evaluations
- Global and local structural response modelling
- Develop and maintain automated analysis workflows using Python, ensuring repeatability, efficiency, and traceability of engineering calculations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, including methodology, assumptions, results interpretation, and design recommendations.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines (geotechnical, installation, materials, structural) to ensure alignment of design inputs and outputs.
- Support design reviews, verification processes, and internal technical discussions.
- Ensure compliance with international design standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO) and project‑specific requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and engineering methodologies.
- Work under the supervision of a discipline lead while maintaining autonomy in daily tasks and deliverables.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Recent and proven experience as a rigid subsea pipeline engineer.
- Strong command of FEA methods applied to subsea pipeline behaviour.
- Solid understanding of pipeline stability phenomena, including buckling and walking.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and workflow optimization.
- Good knowledge of international pipeline design codes (DNV‑ST‑F101, DNV‑RP‑F110, API RP 1111, etc.).
- Ability to interpret complex numerical results and translate them into actionable engineering conclusions.
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes
- Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written communication skills for technical reporting.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with project leadership.
- Effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Rigorous approach to documentation, version control, and traceability.
- Python (mandatory)
- Experience with FEA tools commonly used in subsea engineering (e.g., Abaqus, OrcaFlex, ANSYS, Flexcom) is highly valued.
- Familiarity with data processing and automation libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) is a plus.
