Airbus Type Rating Instructor / Examiner (TRI/TRE)

Overview

Join the Airbus Europe Training Centre in Blagnac (Toulouse) to conduct flight and simulator training for international customers. The role represents Airbus before operators and authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct flight and simulator training, line checking and training for Airbus aircraft.
• Support the Training & Flight Ops Support (TFOS) community.
• Participate in projects on demand within the TFOS framework.
• Represent Airbus ATO and Manufacturer to customers, especially during the flight period, ensuring safe entry into service.
• Identify potential problems proactively and propose solutions.
• Act as Team Leader during Initial Operating Experience.
• Coordinate with Airbus teams and airline partners.
• Maintain and upgrade competencies per qualification.
• Organize training cycles: 3 months, including line training abroad and simulator sessions.

Responsibilities - Accountabilities

• Reported directly to the Head of TRI/TRE in the Flight Crew Training Organisation.
• Belongs to the execution department.

Qualifications

• Hold an EASA ATPL Licence.
• Valid EASA TRI on A320, A330, A350 LIFUS.
• Valid EASA Class 1 Medical.
• English proficiency rating of 4; fluency required.
• Low visibility operations qualification (at least 1 Autoland as Captain).
• ETOPS qualification (or held).
• Flight hours:
• Minimum 5 000 hours as Pilot.
• Minimum 2 000 hours on large jet aircraft.
• Minimum 2 500 hours as Captain on Airbus aircraft.
• Minimum 500 hours instructor experience in FFS on large aircraft.
• Minimum 500 hours as Captain assigned to conduct LIFUS/IOE.
• Significant part of instructor experience must be initial type rating oriented.
• Current and experienced as Captain and TRI on A320 + A330 / A350.
• TRE experience is a plus.
• Significant commercial airline experience.
• Evidence of base training/competences base training assessment expertise required.
• Project management minded.
• Managerial experience is a plus.
• Experience in flight safety is a plus.

Base

• Contract based in Blagnac, near Toulouse.
• Commuting not possible.
• Three consecutive years required in the execution department; after first three years, mobility across Airbus possible.

Specificities

• License conversion to French DGAC required upon hiring.
• Probation period: minimum three months, renewable.
• Employment type: Permanent.
