PHP Technical Lead

Technical Lead, PHP, SQL required to join a growing global business in a permanent position offering an excellent package and hybrid working.

Technical Lead to join a collaborative team working on scalable systems supporting vending technology, IoT, and business-critical platforms. You will lead the development, evolution, and maintainability of high-quality software solutions while mentoring the team and driving best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of PHP/SQL-based systems and scalable architectures
• Define coding standards, best practices, and conduct code reviews
• Design and build APIs, integrations, and microservices
• Drive CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development processes
• Coordinate team delivery and ensure quality and timely releases
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders on priorities and roadmap
• Mentor developers and support technical growth
• Act as a bridge between technical and business teams

Technical skills required

• Strong PHP experience (Laravel or Symfony preferred)
• Solid SQL and database design knowledge
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and modular architectures
• Hands-on with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
