Located in the heart of the Alps, within an exceptional scientific and natural environment, Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) is a world-class multidisciplinary university ranked among the top 150 universities worldwide (Shanghai Ranking).

It comprises 23 academic departments and over 80 research laboratories, including the Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble - LIG. LIG brings together nearly 450 members across three sites, drawing on the complementary strengths of its 22 research teams to address fundamental, technological, and societal challenges in computer science.

The postdoctoral researcher will join LIG's SocSIM-K (Social Simulation and Knowledge) research team, whose work contributes to the multidisciplinary TrAI-SoC project, coordinated in collaboration with UGA's CERAG lab.

  • Design the game and define all gameplay mechanics (game design)
  • Model the BDI (Beliefs-Desires-Intentions) agent system to be learned by the AI
  • Develop and program the mobile application for smartphones
  • Evaluate the game's effectiveness and impact using questionnaires developed by the project's intern
  • Draft and publish scientific articles and papers in both French and English to disseminate results
  • Present research findings at conferences and seminars
  • Collaborate actively with members of the SocSIM-K team and partners of the TrAI-SoC project
  • Participate in the lab's scientific activities and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Conduct literature monitoring on core topics in computer science, serious games, and agent-based simulation
  • Contribute to the synergy between conceptual, technological, and societal challenges explored by the LIG

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills, particularly in mobile application development
  • Keen interest in social sciences and multidisciplinary research
  • Proven ability to communicate and write research papers in both French and English
  • Intellectual curiosity, autonomy, and strong initiative
  • Rigor, analytical mindset, and keen sense of observation
  • Creativity and a proactive approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact easily with researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds

Education: PhD in Computer Science, preferably related to serious games and/or agent-based modeling and simulation.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience desired.
