At Joko, our mission is to we help consumers save time and money when shopping online or in-store. Founded in Paris, Joko is a tech company and certified B Corp with over 105 talents across Paris, Barcelona, and New York (and beyond). More than 6 million users already save money every day at 10,000+ merchants with Joko. From cashback and automatic coupons to price alerts, we've kept expanding our products to make shopping smarter. Today, Joko is an AI shopping app: with Juno, our shopping assistant, users can find the right product at the best price in only a few seconds, with recommendations that get sharper the more they use it.

Having reached profitability in our core market, we’re now scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US. It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!

This position is remote-friendly but France-based. Our People team

The People team's mission is to make every part of the employee journey at Joko rigorous, fair, and genuinely good, from the first interview to the day someone leaves. We own the full employee lifecycle: hiring and compensation, onboarding, performance and career development, culture, and compliance, for a fast-growing team spread across France, Spain, and the US. This role is based in France and focuses primarily on our French population, with occasional involvement on cross-country topics alongside the rest of the People team.

You'll join as our second People Business Partner, working alongside Alarba and reporting directly to Déborah, our VP People. This is a foundational hire for the team: the goal is to make the People team operationally rock solid so we can support Joko's growth without ever losing the quality and care that got us here. What you will do

As a People Business Partner, you'll be the closest People contact for a group of managers, helping them lead and grow their teams within Joko's frameworks. Concretely, that means:Be a real partner to managers. You'll stay close enough to their day-to-day to help them get the best out of their teams, and you'll constantly challenge them to make sure they understand the "why" behind our People processes: performance, mobility, compensation, and beyond.

Be the guardian of fairness. You'll hold the line on our rules, even when someone asks for an exception, and know when the right answer is "yes, let's adjust" versus "no, and here's why." Consistency and fairness across the org are yours to protect.

Handle what goes beyond the mechanical stuff. Sensitive employee situations, investigations: you'll be the person managers and employees turn to when things get complicated, and you'll know how to navigate them with judgment and care.

Lead the key moments of the employee journey. Onboarding, performance cycles, career projections, probation, mobility, L&D: you'll own and continuously improve the processes that structure people's experience at Joko, working hand in hand with our People Ops team.

Build a great Day 1. From pre-boarding to onboarding rituals, you'll make sure new joiners feel set up to succeed from their very first day. It's a small investment that makes a huge difference.

Earn trust, but keep your judgment. People will come to you to talk, but you can only solve what they let you address. You'll build the kind of trust that gets people to open up, while knowing where to draw the line.

Keep us honest and compliant. You'll stay aligned with labor law hand in hand with our People Ops team, base your recommendations on facts, and make sure our People decisions can always stand up to scrutiny. Who we're looking for

Location: You are located in France.

Experience: you have 2 to 4 years of experience in People Operations with a focus on HR Business Partnering topics, ideally gained in a fast-paced company or startup.

Judgment: you know how to read a situation, when to push back and when to bend, and you're comfortable holding a firm line with senior stakeholders when it matters.

Labor law fluency: you have a solid grounding in French labor law (Convention Collective Syntec is a plus) and are comfortable navigating sensitive employee relations topics.

Listener and boundary-setter: you build trust quickly with managers and employees, but you also know how to set clear boundaries and protect confidentiality.

AI-forward: you're excited to use AI tools to automate and scale People Ops work, not just talk about it.

Data-driven: you're comfortable working with compensation benchmarks, survey data, and People metrics to inform your recommendations, not just your gut.

Autonomy and rigor: you can own a process end-to-end, from design to execution, and you bring structure to ambiguity rather than waiting for someone to hand you a playbook.

Languages: you're fluent in French and English. Our perks(Some of the benefits listed below are available to full-time positions only)
