Job Description

The role involves managing and supervising all mechanical pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including planning, procedure development, technical reviews, and coordination of teams and subcontractors. It also requires handling interface management , participating in multidisciplinary reviews, monitoring schedules, preparing resources such as vendors, tools, and temporary equipment, and ensuring delivery of as‑commissioned documentation . Finally, the position provides direct support for operational testing , handover, training.

Profile

  • Engineer with a Master’s degree and strong leadership skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical pre‑commissioning / commissioning, with strong expertise in large rotating machinery.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient with MS Office, PowerBI, PDF/Bluebeam, 3D model tools, and completion tools such as EasyPlant.
  • Practical, well‑organized, with strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Experience in LNG projects is an advantage.
  • Solid site experience with understanding of SIMOPS and field‑related risks and opportunities.

Missions

  • Organize, plan, and manage all mechanical pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities across project phases, ensuring proper resources and adherence to established methodologies.
  • Promote safety and quality within the team and report technical or HSE risks to management.
  • Mobilize personnel for witnessing pre‑commissioning and supervise subcontractor technicians during commissioning.
  • Manage specialized subcontractors for activities such as lube oil flushing and tightening tests.
  • Develop and execute commissioning work scopes, review FAT/SAT, and prepare all required procedures, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Build and manage detailed pre‑commissioning / commissioning schedules, ensuring availability of temporary equipment and vendor support.
  • Coordinate commissioning plans with other disciplines (ICSS, Telecom, etc.) and ensure system‑based execution during the transition from construction to commissioning.
  • Oversee all interfaces, witness construction contractor activities, and ensure delivery of as‑commissioned documentation.
  • Monitor progress, implement corrective actions when needed, and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Tasks

  • Review and comment on mechanical drawings and procedures to integrate commissioning and start‑up requirements.
  • Define system lists and boundaries to support schedule development.
  • Develop commissioning sequences and collaborate with planning to build Level 3 and Level 4 schedules.
  • Support subcontracting teams in defining and managing scopes, roles, responsibilities, and progress.
  • Develop PCCSU procedures, method statements, and Operation Test Procedures (OTP).
  • Participate in supplier clarifications to ensure commissioning and start‑up needs are included in the design.
  • Coordinate with all project disciplines and participate in key reviews (3D model, HAZOP, P&ID) to ensure commissioning requirements are addressed.
  • Prepare lists of vendor mobilizations, spare parts, tools, consumables, and temporary equipment.
  • Contribute to technical workshops and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports.
  • Mobilize PCCSU engineers/supervisors and coordinate operational tests to achieve Ready‑For‑Start‑Up.
  • Support training, handover, and start‑up activities, including sequential start‑up of multiple trains.
