Job Description

As we scale, we are looking for a Product Manager - Payments who can bridge the gap between high‑level ecosystem strategy and granular technical execution. Your goal is to architect and drive a centralized, highly performant payment engine that will become a recognized benchmark for reliability and innovation in the global market.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping one of Skaleet’s most strategic assets: its payment engine.

Operating at the core of mission‑critical banking systems, you will contribute to building a robust, scalable, and market‑recognised payment platform used by Tier‑1 financial institutions.

This role offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of product strategy, large‑scale delivery, and real‑world banking constraints, where decisions have direct impact on system stability, client trust, and long‑term platform value.

You will not work on hypothetical use cases, but on production‑grade payment flows that matter, scale, and generate real business outcomes.

1. Shape the evolution of a market‑critical payment engine (Product & Platform Impact)

• Contribute to the definition and evolution of the payment engine roadmap, balancing long‑term platform consistency with concrete client and market needs.
• Play an active role in structuring a centralized, high‑performance payment engine designed to be reused across multiple banking contexts.
• Participate in strategic build vs. buy decisions, bringing a strong product perspective while accounting for time‑to‑market, regulatory constraints, and delivery commitments.
• Ensure continuous alignment with major payment standards and market evolutions (ISO 20022, SEPA, SCT Inst), positioning Skaleet’s engine as a trusted and forward‑looking platform.

2. Drive excellence in mission‑critical delivery (execution with purpose)

• Own the product lifecycle of core payment flows, from functional framing to production rollout, in environments where reliability and performance are essential
• Work hand‑in‑hand with Engineering, QA, and Delivery teams to transform complex requirements into clear, actionable specifications and high‑quality releases
• Contribute to incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement, directly strengthening platform resilience and credibility with Tier‑1 clients
• Operate confidently in high‑pressure contexts, making pragmatic product decisions that protect both delivery timelines and system stability

3. Act as a strategic product interface (clients, technology & go‑to‑market)

• Serve as a key product point of contact for large enterprise clients, ensuring their needs are deeply understood and translated into coherent product decisions
• Help identify opportunities to transform client‑driven developments into reusable, scalable product capabilities
• Support Go‑To‑Market teams by articulating product value, capabilities, and constraints, contributing to deals without turning the product function into a pure sales extension
• Play an active role in improving time‑to‑value while preserving the long‑term integrity of the payment platform

4. Contribute to long‑term product coherence and platform credibility

• Collaborate with product leadership and architecture roles to ensure consistency across payment initiatives and large client programs
• Actively monitor the impact of client‑specific developments on the overall platform, helping prevent fragmentation and uncontrolled technical debt
• Contribute to the progressive maturation of Skaleet’s product organization, bringing structure, clarity, and pragmatic product thinking to a complex environment

Desired Profile

• 5+ years in Product Management within Fintech/Core Banking, with a proven track record in driving complex, high‑volume payment programs
• A rare ability to think strategically about market ecosystems while remaining hands‑on in technical specifications and user stories
• Proven capacity to remain calm and react effectively in high‑pressure, production‑critical situations
• Deep understanding of payment standards (ISO 20022, SCT Inst), API‑first architectures, and regulatory constraints (PSD3). Expertise in designing delivery “engines”—aligning Product and Engineering through structured frameworks.
