THE ROLE
We're looking for a Patent Solution Engineer who will be the go‑to expert for our chemistry and life science clients, before, during, and after they go live on DeepIP.
You will work hand‑in‑hand with our Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to:
- Bring deep patent domain credibility into every client interaction
- Ensure our clients genuinely adopt and transform their workflows with DeepIP
- Continuously raise the bar on how we onboard, train, and support patent practitioners
This is not a traditional support role. You will be a key driver of client outcomes and commercial performance.
AS A PATENT SOLUTION ENGINEER AT DEEPIP, YOU WILL
Own the chemistry & life science vertical — end to end
- Join pre‑sales calls and demos as the domain expert for chemistry, biotech, and life science prospects
- Map prospect workflows — prosecution, drafting, office action response, portfolio management — and show how DeepIP fits
- Bring credibility in conversations with patent partners and corporate IP teams, de‑risking technical sign‑off and accelerating deal closure
Drive adoption and client success post‑sales
- Lead onboarding and training sessions for new clients—role‑specific, practitioner‑level, not generic
- Run 1:1 sessions with users to resolve complex workflow questions and ensure they get real value from the product
- Handle solution‑level support tickets on Intercom; run follow‑up calls as needed
- Conduct monthly open hours and check‑ins with key accounts to track adoption and surface friction points
Build the knowledge base
- Create and maintain training content: video guides, written tutorials, help center articles
- Develop workflow customization templates (e.g., office action response formats) tailored to client needs
- Feed structured product feedback to the Product team based on client interactions — turning practitioner insights into improvements
About You
You are a qualified Patent Attorney or Patent Agent (EPO and/or USPTO) with a specialization in chemistry, biotech, or life sciences, and you're ready to bring that expertise into a client‑facing, product‑driven environment.
- Have solid hands‑on experience with patent prosecution, claim drafting, and office action response cycles
- Can speak the language of patent attorneys and translate it into clear, practical guidance for clients adopting a new tool
- Have a high quality bar: you know what good looks like in a patent workflow, and you can help clients get there
- Fluent in English, comfortable running calls, trainings, and demos with US and UK practitioners
- Enjoy collaborating across teams and shipping real improvements, not just flagging problems
- Thrive in a fast‑moving environment where the product evolves weekly and no two client conversations are the same
Bonus points if you have
- Prior experience outside of law firms: SaaS, legal tech, consulting, or client‑facing roles involving onboarding or pre‑sales
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted drafting tools or workflow automation
- French spoken: useful for our French client base and internal team
- Exposure to multiple jurisdictions (EP/US) or multiple technical domains
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
- Screening Call: A 30‑minute conversation to get to know you, your background, and your motivations
- Focus Interview: A deep dive into your patent expertise, client‑facing experience, and approach to training and onboarding
- Live Case Study: A working session with Léo and FX. We'll explore how you map workflows, engage practitioners, and drive adoption
- Co‑Founder Interview: Final alignment on culture, pace, and vision
