Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned courses through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials that meet course objectives and program goals.
• Adhere to the course syllabus and comply with assessment of student academic achievement.
• Evaluate student progress through day‑to‑day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
• Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, return graded assignments promptly, and assign final grades for all students, meeting institutional deadlines.
• Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assistance as needed.
• Participate in professional activities such as curriculum planning, examination development, program evaluation/revision, and other related activities.
• Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
• Maintain professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Hours & Schedule

Schedules vary according to class schedules. Employment terms are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in a biological, environmental, or geoscience discipline; or a Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the above disciplines.
• Teaching experience required.

Additional Qualifications

• Recent, successful, post‑secondary teaching experience in Environmental Science courses.

Salary

$69.66 hourly rate
