Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Coal Mine Store in , us
Position will be posted through June 15 2026.
This position greets customers and accepts donations in an efficient and courteous manner. The role works outside in all weather conditions. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Part‑time positions are available, and working weekends is required. Pay is $16.45 per hour and the associate is eligible for DailyPay, a voluntary benefit that allows employees to access their pay on their own schedule.
Job Summary
The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail or stand‑alone donation centers. The Associate provides friendly customer service by greeting and assisting customers, including lifting or unloading donations from vehicles.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers promptly and answering product questions.
- Assist customers in unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
- Handle and sort donated items with care, placing them in appropriate bins or production areas.
- Inspect donations and decide on quality for sale or shipping.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees in the donation entrance and parking lot.
- Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and trailers, following opening and closing procedures.
- Keep supplies well stocked at remote sites.
- Track and report donation levels daily so trailers are not over‑stocked.
- Communicate timely when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
- Follow all retail center and donation center policies and procedures.
- Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks.
- Adhere to all safety processes and procedures.
- Cross‑train in other departments or act as a back‑up as required.
- May be required to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center when necessary.
- Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year of retail experience.
- Make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
- Basic computer skills to log into a system, order supplies, and send/receive email.
- Work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
- Use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
- Read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays; occasional overtime as necessary.
Physical Requirements
Continuous physical tasks for 5–8 hours; frequent tasks for 3–4 hours; occasional tasks for 1–2 hours; never for some. Tasks include lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling/crawling, squatting, climbing, hearing, vision, hand/finger use, repetitive movements, walking, standing, speaking, and working in various weather conditions.
