Role Overview
As a Gastronomic Host & Storyteller, you are the face and soul of Elysian Tales in Paris.
You will accompany small groups of guests through a carefully curated evening, introducing them to some of Paris's most exceptional culinary venues while bringing the city's rich gastronomic heritage to life through engaging storytelling and genuine hospitality.
This is not a traditional tour guide position. We are looking for a charismatic host who can create meaningful connections, make guests feel welcomed, and transform a beautiful evening into an unforgettable experience.
What You'll Do
- Host intimate gastronomic experiences for international guests
- Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests arrive
- Share engaging stories about Parisian culture, gastronomy, history, and local traditions
- Guide guests seamlessly between venues while ensuring impeccable service throughout the experience
- Personalize interactions based on guest interests and backgrounds
- Build relationships with restaurant teams and hospitality partners
- Represent the Elysian Tales brand with professionalism, elegance, and authenticity
- Gather guest feedback and provide operational insights after each experience
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Passionate about gastronomy, hospitality, and Parisian culture
- Naturally charismatic and comfortable speaking with small groups
- An excellent storyteller who can engage guests from diverse backgrounds
- Fluent in English (required)
- Fluent in French (required)
- Additional languages are a strong advantage
- Reliable, professional, and highly organized
- Based in Paris with strong knowledge of the city's dining and cultural landscape
- Available during evenings and weekends
Preferred Experience
- Hospitality, luxury travel, food and beverage, events, or tourism
- Guest relations or customer-facing roles
- Public speaking, hosting, performing arts, or storytelling experience
- Experience working with international clientele
Eligibility Requirements
To work with Elysian Tales, candidates must:
- Be legally authorized to work in France
- Be a registered freelancer (auto-entrepreneur, entrepreneur individuel, or equivalent self-employed status) and able to issue invoices for services rendered
- Be fluent in both English and French, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reside in Paris or the immediate surrounding area and be able to travel easily and reliably to central Paris for scheduled experiences
- Have their own smartphone with internet access
- Be available to host experiences during evenings and weekends
- Be comfortable working independently while representing a luxury hospitality brand
