Job Title: A400M Flight Management System (FMS) Design Work Package Leader (f/m)

Location: Toulouse, France

Department: E2E Mission & Functions

Responsibilities

• Scoping and requirements definition: Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to understand, analyze, and address development requests for the A400M FMS.
• System design leadership: Lead design activities and processes for the next A400M Flight Management System standards.
• Supplier and subcontractor management: Manage and oversee a multinational supplier and various subcontractors involved in the work package.
• Transnational coordination and interfaces: Drive a wide network of multidisciplinary interfaces, including laboratory and flight test teams, aircraft programs, safety, certification, and airworthiness.
• Process improvement and innovation: Support the optimization of design processes, drive knowledge capitalization, and foster new ways of working within the design office.

Qualifications

• Background in Engineering or equivalent, specializing in aeronautics, embedded systems, or avionics.
• Significant experience in system design (5+ years) with a strong background in flight management/guidance & control, software/hardware specification, or flight physics/aircraft performance.
• Mastery of avionics systems engineering (preferably FMS) and specification of cockpit multi‑systems functions.
• Strong persuasion, influencing, decision‑making, autonomy, proactive approach to strict timescales, flexibility within transnational teams.
• Negotiation level in English is mandatory; negotiation level in French is highly desirable.
