Supervise warehouse operations and personnel for safe and efficient preparation of product for delivery to customers. Act as a first line manager directing associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on trucks. Direct the preparation of the warehouse for receiving. Assign inbound trucks to dock doors and direct the workforce in the efficient and timely unloading, receiving and replenishment of stock to ensure the warehouse is ready for shipping. Oversight of will call. Assist in resolving personnel, organizational and equipment problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for associate development and thorough training on policy and procedures. Creates a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open.
- Monitors a variety of operational information, such as “mis‑picks” and productivity reports, to ensure individual order selectors and the entire shift are meeting rates and following preferred methods. Takes action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors.
- Involved in the interviewing, hiring, reviewing, disciplining and termination processes for warehouse personnel.
- Ensure product is stocked in an appropriate location, in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes and procedures to create space on the dock and ensure a smooth flow of work.
- Monitor a variety of operational information on replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping crew to minimize/eliminate the potential for “shortages.”
- Communicate with buyers on stock shortages, overages, and damages to correct problems and reduce customer shortages.
- Regularly inspect the facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Accountable for maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment. Prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
- Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve issues regarding expenses and cost control.
- Work with operations management to identify sources of inventory shrinkage and assist in developing action plans.
- Prepare various reports and forms such as credit slips, accident reports, computer invoices, shift inspection reports, absence reports, repair orders and requisitions for replacement equipment.
- Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of assigned Essential Responsibilities as may be required from time‑to‑time by management representatives.
- Manage and cycle‑count inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee all shipping and receiving activities to include loading and unloading of trucks.
SUPERVISION
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but does provide work direction for the Warehouse Worker position.

The incumbent is required to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility throughout the company as well as:

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Training: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree preferred. PIT Certification preferred.
- Related Experience: A minimum of three years of warehouse distribution and two years of experience managing an hourly workforce and inventory control required.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to interpret financial and operational data; basic computer skills; familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements; strong leadership, communication and people development skills; broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
This role will also receive an annual incentive plan bonus.

COMPENSATION
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 and $90,000.
