Operations Manager - BU Repair - 92 F/H
Overview
Freyssinet (7 000 employees) has wide expertise in construction, repair, reinforcement and maintenance of structures. For our Major Projects Direction (100 employees – 60M?) we look for an Operations Manager to join our Repair Business Unit. This BU currently manages 9 projects in 8 countries (Philippines, India, Zambia, Congo, Togo, South Africa, …) from 2M? to 20M?. The role reports to the BU Manager and is responsible for the execution of the projects and for their HSE, financial and quality performance, in connection with the Project Managers, and you maintain relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in kick‑off meetings to validate the execution plans proposed in price studies.
- Participate in transfer meetings, identify critical points of contracts, agree with the BU Manager on margin at transfer.
- Establish the contractual framework with our partners (internal or external JV) and represent the BU in project management committees.
- Ensure regular contact with customers and partners, meaning to see them on site.
- Supervise the project managers in the exercise of their responsibilities and control and assist them to ensure that the completion of the operations is according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets and contractual commitment and local legislation.
- Coordinate BU activities with the Financial Dept and ensure that valuations were submitted time‑sly, cash collected and manage the contractual and legal issues.
- Approve procurement orders, payments to suppliers and sub‑contractors.
- Ensure QSE compliance of the company policies and procedures and perform HSE audits of projects.
- Responsible for staff recruitment & mobilisations and to animate the management of the careers of the teams.
Co‑actor of our operational excellence, you work closely with our Contract Management, Financial, Technical, QSE, Purchase and HR Departments.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Graduate with confirmed experience of at least ten years in construction and expertise acquired in the Freyssinet trades (project management preferably) or in major contractors on major projects of civil works.
- Good knowledge of cost control & contract management (FIC; NEC?);
- Ideally good knowledge of structural reinforcement works and/or civil engineering.
- Strong ability to develop relationships with clients and partners.
- Capacity to anticipate and to manage design, methods, contract, financial, legal issues.
- Capacity to filter requests and motivate the operational teams internally.
- Productivity and profit‑oriented, pragmatic, rigorous, proactive force, with an "entrepreneur" spirit.
- Bilingual in English.
This position is located in our head office with frequent travels abroad.
