About BioFluff
BioFluff is reimagining the fur, plush, and comfort materials industries with low-impact, plant-based alternatives to animal-derived and fossil fuel-based fabrics. Our work has been featured in Vogue Business, Business of Fashion, The New York Times, Financial Times, and Bloomberg.
Our first material, Savian Naturals, launched with Stella McCartney at COP28 in December 2023 and has since appeared on runways and collections in London, New York, Paris, and Copenhagen, with collaborators including LVMH, Martine Rose, Collina Strada, JNBY and GANNI. We've since expanded into interiors and design, and are now developing a scalable bio-based material for the toy industry.
The Role
We're looking for a highly organised, tech-savvy Operations Lead to support the COO and broader team as we scale. You'll be the operational backbone of the company: managing stock, coordinating shipments across our Italian and Chinese supply chains, and building the systems that let our team move fast and efficiently.
This isn't a passive coordination role. We want someone who spots gaps in our process and fixes them, automates what can be automated, and holds the whole team to a high bar for responsiveness. Our standard: no client or partner ever waits on BioFluff.
What You'll Do
- Manage stock levels across BioFluff's material lines and manufacturing partners (Italy and China)
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs agents
- Track orders, deliveries, and inventory in close coordination with manufacturing partners
- Own BioFluff's operational tech stack, from ERP implementation to ongoing system management
- Identify and build process automations that reduce manual work across the operations function
- Ensure all client and partner communications are answered within 24 hours
- Support the COO with day-to-day operations and drive standardisation across internal processes
- Help build scalable operational documentation as the team grows
What We're Looking For
- 5-7 years in operations, logistics, or supply chain, ideally in textiles, materials, or manufacturing
- Tech-forward, comfortable building lightweight automations (Zapier, Make, LLMs)
- Organised and reactive; responsiveness is a professional standard, not an extra effort
- Hands-on and proactive: you fix problems, not just report them
- Experience with China supply chains is critical; Italy experience a strong plus
- Fluent in English and Mandarin or Italian (required); French a bonus
- Able to work within a European timezone (GMT±2), ideally based in France or Italy; periodic travel to suppliers and team required
Why Join BioFluff
Play a key role at a pivotal growth moment, building the operations function rather than just maintaining it. Work closely with a senior, founder-led team with direct access to leadership, and grow into the function as the business scales.
