The Operations Director is responsible for end‑to‑end operational excellence across the lifecycle of RFID hardware and tag products, from supplier sourcing and manufacturing through quality, logistics, and delivery to customers. This role ensures scalable, cost‑effective, and reliable operations, supporting growth, margin targets, and customer satisfaction in an industrial environment. As a Leader, you will be accountable for the operational performance of HID Textile Services in EMEA and APAC, and coordinate with US operations, by defining enhanced S&OP process, making it efficient to support the Business Unit growth. You will integrate global financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.

Identification Technologies (IDT):

IDT is creating trusted identities for IoT applications through Smart Components and Enabling Services. Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management

  • Define and execute the global operations strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage manufacturing operations (inhouse and/or contract manufacturers), including capacity planning, yield, scrap, and efficiency targets.
  • Process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Supplier selection, qualification, and dual‑sourcing.
  • Cost negotiations and long‑term agreements.
  • Risk management (shortages, geopolitical, lead times).

Operations Performance & Cost Control

  • Own COGS, operational budgets, and productivity targets.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives (BOM optimization, sourcing leverage, logistics optimization).
  • Implement and track KPIs such as OTD (On‑Time Delivery), inventory turns, manufacturing yield, cost variances.
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to balance demand, supply, and inventory.

Quality, Compliance & Reliability

  • Ensure products meet quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements (e.g. CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH, ISO).
  • Oversee incoming, in‑process, and final quality controls.
  • Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Field quality issues and RMA analysis.
  • Drive a “built‑in quality” culture across operations and suppliers.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Industrialization

  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to industrialize new hardware and tag products.
  • Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
  • Own the transition from prototype → pilot → mass production.
  • Secure readiness across supply chain, tooling, test equipment, and documentation.

Logistics, Inventory & Order Fulfillment

  • Manage global logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining service levels.
  • Ensure efficient order fulfillment and customer deliveries, including international shipments.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop multi‑disciplinary teams (manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics).
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational rigor.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Finance, and Customer Support.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in operations within a large volume hardware / electronics / industrial devices company.
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing operations (EMS/ODM or internal factories) and global supply chains.
  • Cost and margin objectives experience.
  • Strong exposure to NPI and industrialization of hardware products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills in an international environment. Proficient English communication (verbal and written).
  • RFID technology background and hardware experience is a plus.
  • Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies; strong business management sense.
  • Leadership qualities and managerial abilities; ability to manage project leaders in system engineering.
  • Customer-focused mindset and basic requisites understanding; budgeting and strategic planning knowledge.
  • Soft skills: organization, autonomy, team spirit, leadership.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS is a definite plus.

Work Requirements

  • Compliance with HID Global policies related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel (25–40%), primarily to APAC; must possess or be able to acquire a valid passport.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country of hire.
