Operations & Data Associate | Climate Tech Startup
About Thermosphr
Thermosphr is a ClimateTech startup optimising energy management for commercial buildings across Europe. Our software combines thermal modelling, model predictive control, AI, and real-time energy management – delivering over 30% energy savings for offices, shopping centres, and universities. Over 1 million square metres operated across Europe, with more than 3,000 tonnes of CO2 avoided to date.
We are based in Paris, growing fast, and building something we are genuinely proud of. You will not just watch a startup scale – you will help build the systems that make it possible.
The role
Our portfolio of live buildings is growing fast, and so is the need to manage performance at scale. This role sits where data meets the real world: turning raw building data into decisions, while developing a genuine understanding of how buildings and energy systems actually work. You will be part of the Data & Product team, working closely with Operations. This is not a role for polishing pipelines in isolation for two weeks. We move fast, ship things that work at 80%, and improve them. Scope evolves quickly – whoever takes this on early will grow with it.
Responsibilities
Data & tooling
- Build scalable monitoring tools that give the team real-time visibility across the full portfolio.
- Use AI to prototype and build faster.
- Replace manual processes and legacy spreadsheets with solutions people actually want to use.
- Enable project managers to read their own data and act on it independently.
Understanding the business
- Catch problems before they become costly: control logic errors, configuration gaps, missing data, equipment failures.
- Investigate root causes, not just symptoms – and work with Ops to resolve them.
- Build a solid working knowledge of how building equipment actually operates.
Profile
Experience & skills
- 2 years of experience in a data, analytics, or technical role.
- You have worked with tools like SQL, Python, or BigQuery – or similar – and know how to pick up a new stack fast rather than needing a specific one.
- Strong analytical skills – structuring problems, spotting patterns, and communicating findings clearly.
- You use AI tools as a natural part of how you work.
- Fluent in English and French.
Mindset
- Technically curious – you enjoy building things from scratch and turning messy data into something people can act on.
- You ship, you iterate, and you do not wait for the perfect brief.
- Ops-curious – you care as much about why a building underperforms as about the tool you build to fix it.
What we offer
- Full ownership of the data and performance layer across our entire building portfolio.
- A direct, visible hand in real energy savings – not vanity metrics.
- A team that genuinely wants you to grow, and will push you to.
