Operational Finance Modeling & Control Specialist
IXO is seeking experienced operational and technical finance practitioners for paid remote work on realistic financial cases. You will create professional work products and evaluate AI-generated attempts, working from source material that can contain gaps, conflicting evidence and irrelevant detail.
The work
Assignments draw on several finance workflows. Reconcile trading and accounting profit-and-loss figures, month-end valuations, commissions and adjustments. Assess vendor payments and accounts-payable reconciliations where available cash is constrained, using purchase-order, purchasing-card and invoice-aging controls.
Build linked three-statement and pro-forma models where the case requires them. Transaction cases may involve ASC 805 acquisition accounting, deferred-revenue adjustments, purchase-price-allocation amortization and the timing of synergies. Other cases involve commercial credit, covenant calculations or partnership and professional-services profit distributions, capital accounts and allocation waterfalls.
Work from agreements, term sheets, trial balances, internal memoranda and email records. Identify which evidence affects the conclusion, explain unresolved assumptions and connect the numbers to a recommendation a CFO or partner can assess. Reviews should distinguish a polished answer from a result that withstands accounting and financial scrutiny.
Relevant experience
Bring at least three years of hands-on experience in one or more of these routes: product or financial control; corporate FP&A; technical accounting; treasury, financial operations or accounts payable/procure-to-pay; commercial-banking credit; or partnership/professional-services finance.
Strong US GAAP/IFRS knowledge, advanced Excel modeling and sound judgment with incomplete information are required. You should be comfortable linking statements and checking reconciliations and pro formas. A CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred. Knowledge of ASC 805 and ASC 606 is an additional advantage. An investing, portfolio-management or CFA background is unnecessary.
Engagement
Compensation is $75/hr USD. IXO will agree the assignment, expected outputs and working arrangements before work begins. These are substantive finance production and review tasks. Use only authorized project material or permissible general expertise; never provide confidential employer, client or counterparty information. Any additional assignment requires a separate agreement.
