Position: Onsite Technical Specialist – Control Systems (Offshore Wind)
Type: Full-time, Permanent (35-hour contract)

Overview
This role supports the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities of an offshore wind project using floating wind turbine technology. The position focuses on the maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of assets.
The Onsite Technical Specialist will collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to plan, execute, and optimize maintenance programs related to automation and control systems. The position reports to the O&M Coordinator and involves regular offshore mobilizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all project, site, and industry QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
- Support the planning and execution of control system–related activities including inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, with focus on minimizing downtime.
- Participate in the definition of method statements and risk assessments prior to operations.
- Provide hands‑on and technical support to the O&M team for both onshore and offshore interventions.
- Manage and support the procurement and logistics of spare parts, including storage and dispatch.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve operational procedures for control system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance procedures and system reliability .
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the organization’s O&M capabilities .
- Provide technical support to other offshore wind projects under construction when needed.
Preferred Professional Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial or offshore environments involving control systems maintenance, instrumentation troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Proven knowledge of control systems architecture (RIO, PLC, HMI, SCADA, network).
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems .
- Experience in offshore operations , including work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging weather conditions.
- Prior work in offshore wind, oil & gas, industrial services, or shipping industries is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with quality, safety, and risk management .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience working with multicultural and cross‑functional teams across multiple time zones.
Technical Skills (Preferred)
- Familiarity with PLC programming environments , such as TIA Portal or Beckhoff .
- Experience in data analytics and database queries using SQL or Python .
