One of our SaaS products provides full vehicle history from a VIN or license plate. To consolidate our position and prepare the next phase of growth, we want to strengthen our direct relationships with key data holders in the automotive ecosystem – OEMs, insurers, DMS vendors, public institutions.
As OEM Data Partnerships Manager, your mission is to build and negotiate these strategic partnerships. You will report directly to the CEO.
Team description
You will work closely with David, our CEO (your manager), and Laurent, project owner, who jointly drive the strategy.
The partnerships you negotiate will involve technical integration – you will therefore also be in regular contact with our Tech team, in particular our CTO Grégoire.
The role is cross‑functional, at the intersection of business development, strategy and tech.
Your responsibilities
Strategy & Data Partnerships- Define and execute the group’s overall data partnerships strategy, aligned with the 5‑year valuation objectives
- Identify and approach data holders across the automotive industry: OEMs, insurers, DMS vendors, public institutions
- Build a tailored narrative for each type of stakeholder – for OEMs, the value proposition is not financial but strategic (market protection, quality of the vehicle fleet)
- Negotiate and close data partnerships granting direct access to vehicle history via the VIN
- Lead complex negotiations and long sales cycles with major industry players
- Develop and maintain a network of key contacts across the European automotive ecosystem
- Monitor industry players, technologies and regulatory evolutions (GDPR, vehicle data access rights)
- Work with the Tech team to ensure smooth integration of new data sources
- Set up and maintain dashboards to track KPIs linked to data partnerships
- Represent the Data Partnerships function with the CEO and contribute to long‑term strategic decisions
⭐ Your profile
Experience- 15+ years of experience in the automotive industry or automotive data space
- Established network with OEMs and key industry players (insurers, DMS, public institutions)
- Has already negotiated and signed at least one data partnership with an OEM
- Experience in an entrepreneurial or scale‑up environment is a plus
- In‑depth knowledge of the automotive data ecosystem: OEMs, DMS, insurance, public sources
- Strong understanding of contractual and regulatory frameworks around vehicle data (GDPR, data access, data sharing agreements)
- Ability to discuss integration topics with a technical team (APIs, data formats, data volumes)
- Solid analytical skills: KPI tracking, partnership performance measurement
- Strong commercial / biz dev mindset – you know how to convince and close
- Leadership and strategic vision: you can navigate long sales cycles and complex negotiations
- High autonomy: able to own a project from A to Z without micro‑management
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment where everything is to be built
- Excellent communication skills – you can adapt your discourse from an OEM executive to an integration engineer
- English: fluent (mandatory) – the market is European
- French: fluent (preferred) – a significant share of our business is in France
- German: a plus
✨ Perks of the role
- Direct strategic impact: a key project for the company’s valuation, reporting directly to the CEO
- Strong autonomy: you define your strategy, build your pipeline, lead your negotiations. The CEO and Laurent set the frame, you have the freedom to execute
- A from‑scratch role: you lay the foundations of the Data Partnerships function – everything is to be built
- A European playground: OEMs, insurers, DMS, public institutions – a rich and stimulating scope for an automotive data expert
- Direct exposure to the leadership team (CEO, CTO) with the opportunity to shape a function that will grow
Challenges of the role
- Long sales cycles: complex negotiations, few quick wins in the early phase
- A role in the making: no existing process, no playbook, everything is to be created
