Description of Work
The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK‑ADATC patients. The NS is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. The NS administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel on their assigned shift, works with management to oversee daily functioning of the facility, ensures adequate staffing coverage, and directs staff during their duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences
- Considerable knowledge of management and supervisory methods, practices, and techniques and nursing education programs.
- Considerable knowledge of trends, current technology, and requirements and administrative methods and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, nursing and other hospital personnel, and community groups.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Considerable knowledge of various aspects of medical care, including but not limited to chemical dependence, withdrawal, detoxification, and psychiatric conditions.
Recruitment Range
$77,076 to $127,175
Sign‑On Bonus

About the Facility
JFK is a 68‑bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
Minimum Education and Experience
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and three years of nursing experience, including one year in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
