Description of Work
The Nurse Supervisor III position coordinates and supervises campus‑wide nursing care activities for an entire shift, serving as the primary facility representative. The role oversees multiple units with similar resident needs, exercises high‑level clinical decision‑making, and manages after‑hours or weekend on‑call rotations. Additional responsibilities include conducting staff training, reviewing employee work, contributing to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and resolving minor employee relations or disciplinary issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences

- Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the provision of nursing care and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Ability to lead a team; skill in delegation and making assignments.
- Ability to guide and counsel subordinate staff and provide feedback and advice/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients.
- Ability to effectively teach nursing staff through orientation and on‑the‑job training.
Salary and Sign‑On Bonus
Salary Grade Range: $77,076 - $127,175
A Sign‑on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025‑2026 Budget Approval.
Workday Schedule
Monday – Friday / 8:00 am‑5:00 pm
Minimum Education and Experience
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and four years of nursing experience, including two years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
