Job Overview
Emerson is seeking a Manufacturing or Quality Engineering professional to join the North American Quality Team in Mansfield, MA. The role involves monitoring pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants and naval vessels, serving as liaison between manufacturing, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with company and government standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead Supplier Development and support all Emerson sites (including the Quality WW team) for supplier‑related quality initiatives in North America.
- Collaborate with the global supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering to address supplier issues related to design, manufacturability, or quality requirements.
- Conduct source inspections, periodic supplier audits, and performance assessments at vendor locations.
- Provide suppliers with timely non‑conformance data for rejected products and support problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non‑conformances efficiently and effectively.
- Manage and monitor Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARS) to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and proven effective.
- Create monthly reports and drive continual improvement initiatives when targets are missed, maintaining positive vendor relationships.
- Own Supplier Quality Oversight and Improvement, ensuring quality deficiencies are addressed and corrective actions are validated.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Experience auditing ISO 9001, ISO 14001/45000, and ASME NQA‑1 standards.
- Familiarity with materials, manufacturing technologies, and processes such as forging, casting, and machining.
- Excellent data analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate cross‑functional collaboration to drive results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Up to 40% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of ASME Section III Nuclear and Navy Mil‑Spec.
- Certification as an ASME NQA‑1 Nuclear Lead Auditor.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive base salary in the $100,000 – $135,000 annually range, with performance‑based rewards.
