Offer Description

At the University of Angers, the department of Law and Economics seeks to appoint from September 2026 a new faculty member in the position of a non-permanent professor.

Applicants must have a Doctoral degree, Ph.D., or equiv. in Economics, or a closely related area, by the time of appointment.

Applicants should have pedagogical aptitude and experience in teaching (in French) and supervising students at bachelor’s level and master’s level, as well as contributing to further teaching and administrative responsibilities of the department. He/she will be asked to promote the department and its teaching

The appointed candidate will be part of the GRANEM, the research group in Economics, Business and Management at the University of Angers.

He/She has to show promise or record of high-quality research in one of the GRANEM’s research fields, ideally proven by R&Rs or first publications in peer-reviewed journals.

We offer a dynamic, international, and team-oriented working environment in intensive dialogue with academic colleagues and business partners. Angers is a green and dynamic city, and our innovative university is rank 1 in France (students success rates, Bachelor)

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate strong research capabilities, including the ability to design, implement, disseminate, and promote high-quality research in the field of economics. He should engage actively in the scientific life of the research unit by participating in seminars, events, collective projects, and the laboratory’s general activities. A proven mastery of a research topic aligned with at least one of GRANEM’s three scientific axes is essential. Research that contributes to understanding or addressing major societal transitions will be particularly valued, reflecting the laboratory’s strategic priorities and long-term scientific vision.

In addition to research excellence, the position involves scientific responsibilities and supervision duties. The candidate will contribute to students’ initiation into research, notably through the supervision of dissertations and the development of research awareness. He may also participate in collaborative research projects related to one of GRANEM’s thematic axes. Furthermore, the role includes active involvement in scientific dissemination and outreach, such as helping organize GRANEM’s academic events, presenting research at national and international conferences, publishing in recognized journals, and contributing to scientific mediation efforts aimed at broader audiences.
