Non-Life Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter

We are currently looking for a Non-Life Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to join our team in Paris.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional seeking to further develop their underwriting career within an international and collaborative environment, working closely with clients, brokers and underwriting teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Property & Casualty Treaty Reinsurance business.
• Analyse underwriting submissions, reinsurance structures, exposures and portfolio performance.
• Assess risks and determine pricing, capacity, terms and conditions within the established underwriting authority.
• Negotiate treaty conditions and wordings with cedants and brokers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries.
• Contribute to portfolio management and profitability monitoring.
• Support the implementation of underwriting strategies and business plans for the region.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective markets.
• Collaborate closely with underwriting, actuarial, catastrophe modelling, claims and other technical teams.
• Participate in client visits, renewal negotiations, industry events and market meetings.

Candidate Profile

• More than 5 years of experience within the reinsurance industry.
• Previous experience in Treaty Reinsurance Underwriting, Reinsurance Broking or a related technical reinsurance role.
• Good knowledge of proportional and non-proportional treaty structures.
• Strong analytical and commercial skills.
• Ability to assess risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Client-oriented mindset and interest in business development.
• International outlook and ability to work across different markets and cultures.
• Fluent French and English are required.
• Spanish would be considered an advantage.
