Job Description

Fortinet is looking for a Network Security QA Engineer to join the EMEA Customer Readiness Testing team at Sophia Antipolis Technical Assistance Centre, France . This is a technical role delivering post‑sales testing service to key customers.

The Customer Readiness Testing team performs tests designed to specifically replicate the customer environment in which Fortinet products are used, with the end goal of improving confidence in our released software builds.

The position requires candidates with strong experience in network security (preferably in technical support or QA) and, based on testing requirements and customer data, the ability to set up testing environments, define and execute test cases, and detail the test results in service reports delivered to customers.

The role entails an excellent ability to clearly write detailed information and to understand and interpret written information.

Responsibilities

• Implement customer projects – testing of Fortinet products deployed in production environments following the CRT processes.
• Thoroughly understand testing requirements and customer information detailed in the project proposal.
• Write project‑related documents (topologies, test plans, methods of procedures) with any required technical architecture diagrams.
• Provision the System Under Test to reproduce the customer environment on CRT Data Center equipment.
• Configure traffic generators (FortiTester / Spirent / Ixia) to simulate traffic similar to that monitored in customer production environments.
• Define and execute test cases based on testable requirements.
• Conduct technical investigations of problems involving Fortinet products.
• Follow up with R&D departments to resolve product issues.
• Document all test results in a test report to deliver and present to the customer at the end of a CRT campaign.
• Administer traffic generators (FortiTester / Spirent / Ixia).
• Improve and maintain CRT application flows catalog.
• Provide post‑mortem traffic generator usage experience and update the TG database.
• Maintain vendor relationships for feature requests and product enhancements.
• Follow up on realities and propose new solutions emerging in the application simulation world.
• Support customer projects by handling JIRA TG incidents/issues until resolution.
• Interface with vendor support and follow up external tickets and escalations.
• Create technical documentation and bulletins to improve Fortinet CSS and CRT knowledge bases.
• Develop core competency on Fortinet’s product line and technologies.
• Work closely with support organizations.

Qualifications

• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Strong understanding of data networking protocols, specifically TCP/IP, routing and switching.
• Very good presentation and technical documentation skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of application and security testing tools for physical network infrastructure (Spirent and/or Ixia network and security traffic generators).
• Experience with security products (firewalls, IPsec, IDS/IPS, anti‑spam, AV).
• Good understanding of web application concepts, security and vulnerabilities.
• Work experience with Fortinet products an advantage.
• Positive, communicative and customer‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
• General knowledge of software testing an advantage.
• Scripting knowledge an advantage.
• Five years or more experience in network security (technical support or QA).
• Graduate of network and security engineering school.
• Advanced knowledge of English (written and spoken); other languages are an advantage.
