Network & Security Architecture Manager (Transition Manager)

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Quickly assess the current architecture landscape, ongoing initiatives and risks, and confirm a pragmatic 3–6 month roadmap aligned with IT and cybersecurity strategy.
  2. Lead, support and develop the team of network and security architects (4 people): clarify priorities, allocate capacity, and ensure day‑to‑day management continuity.
  3. Define and drive the architecture strategy for network & security domains, including LAN, WLAN, SD‑WAN, SSE and datacenters, with a focus on immediate impact and decision‑making.
  4. Provide high‑level expertise and escalation support on critical topics, ensuring service stability and risk mitigation.
  5. Coordinate efficiently with other stakeholders (cybersecurity, operations, external vendors, etc.) and prepare an organized handover package for the permanent manager.
  6. Interim mission – objectives & expected deliverables:
  • 0–30 days: onboarding, stakeholder mapping, review of current architecture standards and in‑flight programs; identification of key risks and quick wins.
  • 30–90 days: validated priorities and roadmap; governance cadence in place; decisions unblocked on critical topics (SSE, SD‑WAN, datacenter, cloud connectivity).
  • Delivery: updated architecture principles/standards where needed; documented target states and transition plans for major initiatives.
  • Handover: complete handover pack (status, risks, decisions log, roadmap, stakeholder map, vendor landscape) and support of the permanent manager’s ramp‑up.

  • Enterprise network architectures (WAN, LAN, WLAN, SSE, datacenters)
  • SD‑WAN – Fortinet
  • SSE – Zscaler
  • Firewalling – Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet
  • WLAN/LAN – Cisco Meraki
  • Datacenter – Juniper LAN, Cisco LAN, F5
  • Cloud networking concepts – AWS in particular

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise networking, including significant architecture experience and proven experience in team management or technical leadership.
  • Proven ability to step into complex organizations quickly (interim/transition, consulting or turnaround contexts) and deliver within short timelines.
  • Capability to interact with multiple stakeholders in an international environment; ability to challenge, arbitrate and make decisions.
  • Strong prioritization skills and pragmatic approach to balance long‑term architecture principles with operational constraints.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
