We're currently working with a large IT consultancy who are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a global Infrastructure Build team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Écully, France, you'll work alongside internal architects and engineers to deliver deployment, evolution, and security projects across Campus, Data Centre, and Cloud network infrastructures. The primary goal is delivering robust, documented connectivity architectures ready for production release.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimise network infrastructures (On-Premise and Public/Private Cloud) across Cisco and Aruba environments
- Apply security policies via firewalling, traffic rules, VPN, and vRouters using Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies
- Automate and industrialise deployment and configuration processes (Network as Code)
- Implement and optimise network monitoring solutions for performance tracking
- Provide advanced technical support to internal teams, particularly on Cisco ACI and complex routing architectures
- Produce critical technical documentation for knowledge transfer (Runbooks, DEX, network diagrams)
- Train and support local IT teams during deployment and migration phases
- Participate in technical and steering committees; track tasks via Jira
Skills / Must Haves
- Strong command of Cisco (DC & Campus) and Aruba Central environments — routing, switching, WLAN, STP, VLAN
- Deep knowledge of (SD-)WAN architectures and dynamic routing protocols (BGP / OSPF)
- Operational mastery of Fortinet (FortiManager, FortiGate) and Palo Alto firewalls
- Familiarity with Efficient IP (DDI) and Radius operations
- Fluent English (written and spoken) — essential for documentation and international collaboration
- Nice to have: F5 load balancing, Zscaler Proxy, Cisco Catalyst Centre automation
