Apave is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician for a permanent position within its New Caledonia branch. Working under the supervision of the Operations Manager and Technical Specialists, the technician will perform a variety of NDT inspections on industrial installations, both in company workshops and at client sites.

Apave is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician for a permanent position within its New Caledonia branch. Working under the supervision of the Operations Manager and Technical Specialists, the technician will perform a variety of NDT inspections on industrial installations, both in company workshops and at client sites. The role focuses primarily on ultrasonic testing while also involving other NDT methods such as magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, and radiography. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring the safety and reliability of industrial equipment while supporting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the technical team.
Responsibilities:
- Assess inspection requirements and perform inspection operations within their area of expertise.
- Conduct Non-Destructive Testing inspections, primarily using ultrasonic testing and potentially magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, radiography, and other methods.
- Perform inspections on a wide variety of industrial installations, including in-service and new pressure equipment, welded mechanical structures, and other assets.
- Carry out inspections in both workshop environments and client facilities.
- Master existing inspection processes and recommend improvements where applicable.
- Prepare technical documentation, inspection procedures, and client reports.
- Rapidly integrate and apply new non-destructive testing methods.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide training and support to team members.
Qualifications:
- Educational background ranging from a high school diploma (Bac) to a three-year post-secondary degree in boilermaking, metallurgy, welding, physical measurements, instrumentation, or a related field.
- Alternatively, proven experience as an inspector with demonstrated expertise in Non-Destructive Testing.
- Proven experience in NDT inspection activities.
- English language proficiency is considered an asset.
- Category A medical fitness is considered a plus.
- CAMARI and Class 7 clearance are considered advantageous.
- Level 2 certifications in Penetrant Testing (PT), Gamma and X-ray Radiography (RT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) are beneficial.

Requirements:
- Valid Class B driver's license.
- Proven background in Non-Destructive Testing.
- Ability to perform inspections using ultrasonic testing and other NDT methods as required.
