Molecular Construct and Gene Editing Reviewer

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate molecular designs whose sequence choices and experimental checks make biological sense. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Create and evaluate nucleic-acid design tasks involving relevant primers, constructs, plasmids, mRNA, CRISPR or repair templates.
• Review cloning, genotyping, PCR and screening logic, checking whether the proposed validation supports the claimed result.
• Explain sequence and experimental-design decisions clearly, and convert authorized scientific examples into structured evaluation material.

Required background and routes

• Sequence-design route: residence in the US or UK for its respective regional track; an advanced relevant life-science degree, demonstrated career progression and strong peer-reviewed work with substantial first-author evidence.
• Design constructs before experiments: primers, vectors/plasmids, guide RNAs, mRNA or repair/HDR templates. Explain codon choices and appropriate cloning methods such as Golden Gate, Gibson, restriction cloning or Gateway.
• Experimental gene-editing route: a bachelor's or higher in molecular/cell biology or a related subject, extensive cloning/genotyping/PCR practice, CRISPR expertise, molecular screening and sequence design, and a research record showing rigorous data handling.

Preferred background

• A PhD is particularly valued for sequence design. Prior AI annotation/evaluation, rubric work, dataset/protocol development or interdisciplinary remote research is helpful.

Deliverables

• Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

A regional track is open to residents of United States. A regional track is open to residents of United Kingdom. Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 40, 20 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.
