Modeling Engineer
You will join the Operations department, whose mission is to deploy the Metroscope software at our customers' sites, as well as to maintain and continuously improve the diagnostic methodology. The department is divided into 2 teams: the Engineering Services team and the Customer Success team.
As a member of the Engineering services team, your missions will be to:
Build digital twins (physical numerical models) of complex industrial installations using the modeling library, in direct collaboration with operators.
Build statistical models at a system or component level in power plants to detect anomalies.
Participate in the development of our in-house modeling library (library evolution, writing new components, academic partnerships, etc.) and in the improvement of our practices.
Perform engineering studies to support operators in improving the power plants performance and reliability.
Contribute to codes designed to enhance the operational value of industrial data.
Participate in the extension of Metroscope's technological scope.
This list is not exhaustive. You will be part of a small team of 7 people involved in high-stakes projects for Metroscope, which will give you autonomy and room for initiative.
Your work will be partly operational (working on our customers' power plants) and partly R&D (improving our methods and increasing our scope). Last but not least, don't forget your safety shoes, because modeling is all about getting to know the field!
PREFERRED PROFILE
You are an engineer with a solid background in the physical sciences, particularly thermodynamics,
You have previous experience in modeling physical systems, ideally in Modelica,
You are familiar with the use of Python for scientific purposes.
You have a foundation in statistics that you can rely on it to make sense of the large customer datasets. Rigor and perseverance will be your allies in analysis!
You're passionate about the energy sector and want to help our customers improve the performance and reliability of their plants and meet the challenge of the energy transition.
You're curious, autonomous and thrive on solving complex technical problems in an industrial environment. You'd like to regularly go out on site in direct contact with the operating teams.
As our customers are both French and foreign, fluency in English is essential.
