POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under strategic leadership, develop engineering organizational strategiesand provide direction aligned with business objectives. Collaborate in LeanManufacturing initiatives which are cost-effective for engineeringprojects. Provide day-to-day leadership to staff including but not limitedto recruiting, selecting, coaching, mentoring, training and assigning andevaluating projects as well as disciplining and providing written andverbal feedback to professional and technical staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides day-to-day leadership to staff including but not limitedto recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and disciplinaryactions as well as developing personal growth opportunities.
Formulates engineering operational strategies by evaluatingengineering trends, establishing critical measurements, determiningproductivity, quality and customer service strategies includingdesigning engineering systems.
Prepares departmental annual budget for human capital and operatingexpenses with strong fiscal accountability.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoringprojects such as preparation of records of expenditures andresearch findings, progress reports, staff meetings to informmanagement of current status of each project.
Partners with management, technical and professional employees toensure program deadlines are met, issues addressed, and processimprovements implemented.
Collects, analyzes and summarizes technical data and trends toprovide information and analysis for operational problems.
Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methodology andprocesses. Directs and assists staff in the use of LeanManufacturing techniques and tools to reduce waste and improveoverall efficiency.
Collaborates with procurement’s suppliers for material, partsand/or equipment including evaluating products in accordance tospecifications and quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; and 10 years’related experience; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, a plus.
Five (5) years’ experience managing professional technical staff, aplus.
Proven experience in IT infrastructure, strategic planning anddevelopment, project management and policy development.
Exceptional understanding and technical knowledge of currentnetwork and PC operating systems, software applications, hardware,protocols and standards, including network user accounts, groupsand development and maintenance of access control lists.
Advanced working knowledge of network server installation,configuration, and maintenance and trouble-shooting.
Advanced ability to determine the nature of computer hardware andsystems software problems, and to communicate technical guidanceand information to users.
Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel,Outlook, Power Point and Word) and JD Edwards Enterprise software.
Salary$140,000.00-$160,000.00
