Member of the IFME (communications, partnerships and events)
The Institut Français des Mondes Eurasiatiques (IFME) is looking for motivated volunteer contributors to join its communication , partnerships , and events teams . These positions are open to anyone wishing to engage in an ambitious intellectual project at the intersection of international relations and area studies.
Co-Head of Communication (~6 hrs/week)
Oversee IFME's overall communication strategy: editorial line, visual identity, newsletter, and message consistency across all channels.
Coordinate the social media, partnerships, and events teams, and represent IFME with media partners.
Experience in institutional or academic communications is preferred. Fluency in both English and French is required.
Newsletter Officer (~3–4 hrs/week)
Write and lay out IFME's monthly newsletter: monitor internal publications, curate Eurasian news, and draft short analytical briefs.
Coordinate with research desks to integrate their outputs.
Strong synthesis skills and a clear writing style are required.
Social Media Manager (~4 hrs/week)
Manage IFME's presence across all platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, Editorial calendar Science communication).
Develop an editorial calendar, draft posts, promote research desk outputs, and monitor Eurasian current affairs.
Interest in geopolitics and ability to communicate complex ideas accessibly are essential.
Visual Content Officer (~2–3 hrs/week)
Create visuals to accompany IFME's publications (infographics, maps, quote cards, event banners) in line with the institute's visual guidelines.
Proficiency in Canva, Figma, or Adobe tools is a plus. An interest in Eurasian topics is appreciated.
Co-Head of Partnerships (~4–6 hrs/week)
Identify and develop partnerships with universities, think tanks, media outlets, and academic institutions aligned with IFME's mission.
Negotiate collaboration, co-publication, and co-organisation agreements, and maintain existing relationships.
Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills are required. Multilingualism is a significant asset.
Institutional Relations Officer (~2–3 hrs/week)
Support the development of IFME's relationships with existing partners: track exchanges, draft institutional correspondence, and keep the contact directory up to date.
Monitor collaboration opportunities such as calls for projects, academic networks, and sectoral events.
Co-Head of Events (~5–7 hrs/week)
Design and organise IFME's events: academic conferences, roundtables, seminars, and webinars.
Manage logistics (venues, speakers, broadcasting), coordinate with research desks to define topics, and handle event communications.
Prior experience in event management (Conferences, Webinars, Logistics, Podcast) is preferred.
Events Monitoring Officer (~2–3 hrs/week)
Identify relevant academic, diplomatic, and media events where IFME could participate or contribute (symposia, forums, book fairs, panels).
Prepare participation dossiers and follow up after events.
A strong interest in international relations and academic life is required.
