Johnson & J app Journistic is searching for the best talent for a Medical Science Liaison – Autoantibody Pipeline for the Southeast region. This field‑based position is located in the Southeast region, with locations in Atlanta, GA, Orlando, Tampa, or Miami, FL. The territory covers Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective scientific information and education to opinion leaders (OLs), healthcare professionals, and internal partners as required by scientific and business needs. The MSL is an established scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products per therapeutic area alignment. The MSL stays abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends.

The MSL provides research support for company and investigator‑initiated research, maintains high integrity, and follows credo values. The MSL builds external relationships with identified OLs and healthcare providers (MD, DO, PhD, PA, NP, RN, Pharm‑D, bio coordinators) and manages a geographical territory. Engagements may be virtual or in‑person, with a priority on in‑person when appropriate.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consistently demonstrate strategic territory planning and build strong relationships within the territory.
  • Develop and maintain a field strategic plan.
  • Respond in a timely manner to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, academic medical centers, and population health decision‑makers, integrating scientific data including real‑world evidence into practice.
  • Present data and information appropriately to the audience.
  • Execute reactive and proactive approaches as approved via the legal/HCC exceptions process.
  • Integrate scientific data into real‑life practice, adapting interpersonal style to particular situations.
  • Anticipate responses of various individuals and teams based on perspective.
  • Prioritize customer‑based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties and projects.
  • Executes Research Initiatives
    • Leverage standards of care and company/investigator‑sponsored clinical trials to facilitate external‑internal research communication.
    • Engage external investigators on unsolicited research inquiries and act as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations teams.
    • Provide clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve site issues, and participate in meetings such as site initiation visits and investigator launch meetings.
    • Lead at least one scientific or strategic immunology project, identifying educational gaps and elevating team acumen.
    • Consistently demonstrate strong scientific acumen.
    • Actively participate in team calls, trainings, & journal clubs through scientific dialogue and sharing of scientific news.
    • Attend and provide leadership at scientific conferences to gather new scientific information.
    • Actively listen to documents, synthesize medical insights, and share findings with the MSL team and partners.
    • Allocate time for self‑driven learning on the current scientific landscape.
    • Represent and support JNJ at scientific or key stakeholder meetings, including congresses, symposia, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and speaking engagements.
  • Continuous support to Department Operations and Internal Partners
    • Perform all administrative requirements in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner (e.g., expense reports, documentation of activities).
    • Maintain focus and composure in uncertain circumstances with minimal direction.
    • Provide regional and local support to enhance sales training initiatives and improve field personnel competencies in partnership with Sales Learning and Development.
    • Communicate and collaborate with field‑based partners and other Immunology MSL teams routinely.
    • Partner with others to lead or participate in large‑scale projects.
    • Maintain thorough understanding and competence in regulatory and health‑care compliance guidelines, corporate policy on appropriate business conduct, ethical behavior, and Medical Affairs SOPs and guidelines.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines.
  • Travel primarily throughout the assigned geography, with infrequent meeting travel outside the region. Estimated travel is 70%.

Qualifications include:

  • A PharmD, PhD, or MD with 1–2 years of relevant hematology, immunology, or auto/alloimmune clinical or research disease experience.
  • 1–2 years of MSL experience, preferably in rare disease or with strong existing KOL relationships in major institutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.
