The Medical Imaging Manager has responsibility for Radiology, Mammography, MRI, Ultrasound, CT scan and our outpatient imaging functions.

Requirements

Education and Experience-

Education:

• Education: Graduate of accredited radiologic technology program a must. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Experience: Experience with at least (1) imaging modality, Preferable (2). Broad based, “hands on” experience in medical imaging and 5+ years of progressive management/supervisory experience in an acute healthcare facility or Critical Access Hospital. Should be able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills, clinical acumen, advanced knowledge of quality and process improvement and the ability to apply sound hospital financial and administrative principles. Must demonstrate self-motivation, perseverance and follow-through to deliver, complete and actualize departmental and hospital goals and objectives.
• Licenses/Certifications: Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and Oregon state license.

Duties and Responsibilities-

• Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbent reports to the CNO to oversee and manage the Medical Imaging Department (Radiology, Mammography, Computed Tomography, and MRI) and acts as a radiologic technologist performing lead technologist (i.e. “hands-on supervisor”) duties to include X-ray studies (including CT Scans) for diagnosis and treatment of patients which affect the accuracy and reliability of physicians’ diagnosis and treatment. Performs a variety of technical procedures according to department, hospital, and national standards. Incumbent must exercise special safety precautions to reduce exposure to X-rays. Incumbent coordinates with other departments, physicians, patients, external regulatory agencies to effectively ensure accurate diagnosis, information, and/or scheduling. Incumbent troubleshoots and recognizes technical problems as they arise, investigates new processes and procedures and implements them as applicable. Incumbent ensures inventory and equipment is maintained, plans and coordinates annual budget requirements with the CNO and CFO and makes recommendations to in regards to the department’s capital equipment needs. Supervisory duties include staffing, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, disciplining, goal setting and attainment, fulfilling the purposes of the medical imaging department in such a way as to achieve a level of clinical and operational excellence. Demonstrates clinical, organizational and communication skills in dealing with patients, families and other health care workers. As necessary, will be on-call for Radiologic Technologist duties.
