Within the Technical Directorate of Safran Helicopter Engines in Bordes, we are looking for our future Mechanical Turbine Design Manager (M/F). Within the Turbine Exhausts department, you will fully participate in the design, sizing, justification, and in-service support activities related to the turbine and exhaust scope.
In this dynamic and collaborative framework, your main missions will be the following:
- Ensure the pre-sizing, design, certification, in-service support, and production support of Safran Helicopter Engines' engines within the turbine scope, in compliance with project specifications, current regulations, and quality requirements
- Participate in scientific and competitive intelligence, contributing to the continuous enrichment of technological and mechanical knowledge
- Actively participate in "business network" activities, particularly through the drafting of capitalization and knowledge sharing documents
- Guarantee the monitoring (reporting) and short- and medium-term planning of your activities, in a collaborative approach with all relevant stakeholders.
You will have the opportunity to evolve within multidisciplinary teams with many interlocutors: study managers, technology and mechanical experts, designers, aerodynamic and thermal teams, group and department heads, as well as mechanical integration, the materials, processes and expertise department, engine testing, in-service support, and the design offices of the industrial department.
These rich interactions will require your ability to integrate multiple constraints and to honor cost, deadline, and quality commitments.
Occasional travel will be required, in France (Tarnos site) and in Europe (Safran Aircraft Engines, partner laboratories, suppliers), to strengthen team synergies.

Let's talk about you
You ideally have a BAC+5 degree (engineering school, university, or doctorate), and you have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
Technical skills:
- Strong skills in mechanics and finite element calculations (ANSYS WorkBench-Classic software particularly appreciated)
- Good command of CAD (CATIA environment), UNIX-LINUX environments, and Python programming.
Behavioral and transversal qualities:
- Curiosity and desire for technical innovation (taste for technology, for evolving calculation technologies and methodologies)
- Strong taste for collaboration and teamwork within multidisciplinary teams;
- Adaptability, analytical skills, and synthetic thinking (presentations of results to experts, project managers and/or to internal and external audits, drafting of capitalization reports)
- Sense of initiative and autonomy: proactive in developing work plans
- Rigor, open-mindedness, and ease in sharing and transmitting your knowledge.
Proficiency in English is also expected to evolve in this environment.
