Mechanical & Thermal Subsystem Lead
Infinite Orbits, established in 2017, is a NewSpace company based in Toulouse that pushes the boundaries of in-orbit services with its own Rendez-Vous autonomous vision‑based navigation solution. The company has flown two generations of missions: Orbit Guard which provides inspection and space situational awareness services in GEO, and Endurance which is a docking service that extends the life of GEO telecom satellites by taking over AOCS for five years.

As Mechanical & Thermal Subsystem Lead you will act as the mechanical and thermal focal point for subsystems (electronic boxes, cameras, optical instruments, etc.).
Job Description
Internal Development
Lead and support design, sizing, and justification activities.
Contribute to technical trade‑offs with a system‑level perspective. Participate in test campaigns (thermal vacuum, vibration, etc.).
Ensure compliance with space industry standards (ECSS or equivalent).
COTS Equipment management
Assess and validate COTS equipment from a mechanical and thermal perspective.
Review verification and qualification approaches (analysis, test, inspection).
Review supplier data packages and ensure compliance with mission requirements.
Evolution
Contribute to spacecraft‑level mechanical and thermal architecture.
Support system trade‑offs impacting performance, mass, and reliability.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 3 years of experience in satellite mechanical and thermal design.
Experience designing and integrating mechanical systems for large satellite platforms.
Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools (e.g., Femap, NASTRAN, CATIA, SolidWorks, Esatan, Systema).
Good understanding of launch vehicle requirements, space environment effects, and mass/cg management.
Demonstrated experience in thermal‑mechanical interface management and structural‑thermal trade‑offs.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project requirements in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
