About the role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the company's mechanical and hardware development.
You will work across mechanical design, prototyping, testing and scale-up, translating early-stage technology into practical, reliable hardware.
This is a highly hands-on role within a small team, with significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape both the technology and engineering processes as the company grows.
Mechanical Engineer responsibilities
- Own mechanical development from prototype through to pilot.
- Translate R&D requirements into practical mechanical designs.
- Design, build and test prototype and pilot-scale equipment.
- Produce CAD models, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Support P&IDs, test plans and commissioning activities.
- Work across fluid and thermal management systems.
- Coordinate suppliers, manufacturers and fabrication partners.
- Apply design-for-manufacture principles.
- Lead hands-on assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
- Establish robust engineering and documentation processes.
- Support and mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate closely with R&D and other engineering disciplines.
Mechanical Engineer requirements
- Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience with product/hardware development experience.
- Experience designing industrial equipment involving fluid and/or thermal systems.
- Experience taking hardware from prototype through to pilot.
- Hands-on assembly, fabrication and testing experience.
- Electrochemical systems experience.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
