An international manufacturing company based in Orléans, France is currently recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer / Draftsperson (Dessinateur Projeteur Confirmé) in Orléans. You will be responsible for the full mechanical design of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines and budgets. The role suits someone who has strong experience in special-purpose machinery, particularly within industrial packaging or printing environments, who is comfortable managing projects end-to-end and collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Working hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to €40,000 (including 13 month + bonus) depending on experience (negotiable)

Location: Orléans, France

Responsibilities

• Optimising technical solutions in collaboration with all relevant technical disciplines
• Preparing technical documentation for assigned equipment, including calculation notes, drawings, bills of materials, manuals, and technical specifications
• Calculating functional, physical, dimensional, structural, and geometric constraints of parts and assemblies
• Participating in design reviews and clearly explaining and justifying technical choices
• Updating design documentation to reflect engineering changes
• Providing technical guidance and support to other design engineers and draftspersons
• Managing project-related responsibilities within special-purpose machinery projects

Ideal Candidate / Qualifications

• Minimum (BTS) Bac +2/3 technical qualification in industrial product design, industrial maintenance, electrotechnics, or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in special-purpose machinery
• Experience within the same industry is strongly preferred
• Strong autonomy in dimensioning calculations and technical problem-solving
• Fluent French and professional-level English (reading, writing, and speaking required)
