- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into the test bench's mechanical technical specifications
- Design the test bench's mechanical architecture in line with internal design practices and overall system integration requirements
- Size and calculate rotating components, including shafts, supports, bearings, and couplings
- Perform dynamic calculations, including critical speeds, vibrational behavior, and balancing
- Ensure consistency between the test bench's mechanical design and the characteristics of the power transmission system under test
- Prepare and update mechanical design documentation, including drawings, calculation notes, and specifications
- Monitor the manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning phases of the test bench
- Coordinate with other project disciplines, including testing, instrumentation, functional safety, and quality
- Lead the Mechanical work package for new projects involving the development of test benches for power transmission systems
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (generalist or specialized in rotating machinery)
- Approximately 8 years of experience in the mechanical design of test benches, ideally in the aerospace or engine industry
- Proven experience with rotating machinery challenges, including vibration, rotor dynamics, shafts, supports, and bearings
- Proficiency in dynamic calculations, including critical speeds and the vibrational behavior of shaft lines
- Ability to independently lead a work package
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably CATIA V5
- Proficiency in calculation tools such as Ansys, Nastran, or equivalent
- Technical proficiency in English
- Self-motivated, analytical, and able to balance customer requirements, design constraints, and the overall integration of the test bench
