Markify Technical Lead - B2B SaaS (H/F)
Overview
As a Technical Lead Developer at Questel, you will play a crucial role in developing our Markify tool. Markify is a global leader in trademark search and brand protection solutions. Our SaaS platform leverages advanced similarity algorithms to deliver industry-leading accuracy for word and image trademark searches, supporting law firms and enterprises worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and algorithm specialists
- Design and optimize similarity, search and ranking algorithms
- Perform reverse-engineering and propose architectural improvements
- Structure the team's work: visibility, traceability, task ownership, and prioritization ensuring scalability and performance of large-scale data systems
- Interact closely with Product, Marketing and Data teams in a Scrum environment
- Drive best practices in code quality, CI/CD and architecture
- Continuously improve production performance and reliability
- Contribute to AI/LLM-based evolution (dataset choices, experimentation)
Profile / Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise in PHP and/or Java
- Proven Technical Leadership experience in Agile/Scrum teams
- Comfortable digging, debugging, and understanding complex systems
- Experience with distributed systems and performance optimization
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English & French
Nice to have
- Search technologies (Elasticsearch, Manticore, Solr)
- Knowledge in image processing, similarity algorithms or AI/ML or prior work with LLMs and training datasets
- Familiarity with DevOps, monitoring, and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus)
- SaaS or Intellectual Property experience

Job location: France, Sophia-Antipolis or Montpellier (hybrid with up to 60% remote work)
