Citi is looking for intern analysts to join our Markets team in Paris. The breadth and depth of our underwriting, structuring, securitisation, sales and trading and distribution capabilities span asset classes and currencies, sectors and industries, covering a vast array of products including equities, commodities, credit, futures and foreign exchange (FX).

Program Overview

The Markets Intern Analyst program runs for six months starting in July 2026. Working alongside experienced professionals, incoming analysts will actively participate in rates, equities, commodities, credit, futures and FX, and may be considered for a full‑time position upon successful completion.

What You’ll Do

  • Learn market‑making and trading book risk management.
  • Develop pricing, hedging and analysis tools and strategies to impact the trading desk.
  • Observe real‑time pricing and risk management from experienced traders.
  • Support key desk tasks such as risk reconciliation, P&L, trade booking and core operations.
  • Contribute to quantitative research projects focused on systematic trading strategies and risk‑model improvement.
  • Use Python and VBA to analyse market trends, price dislocations and trade ideas.
  • Assist in drafting term sheets and maintain databases critical to desk operations.
  • Prepare market updates from Citi’s research and trader insights, collaborating with internal partners across Departments such as Debt Capital Markets, Sales, Trading, Banking, Legal and Middle Office.
  • Create impactful presentations and sales materials, including trade ideas for clients.
  • Analyse institutional client needs and translate them into concrete trades.
  • Produce high‑quality written derivatives content for clients such as hedge funds and institutional investors.
  • Contribute to sales‑run creation and automation.
  • Develop macro and cross‑asset knowledge through research material creation.
  • Support optimisation of client tasks, including post‑trade reports and client activity recaps.
  • Drive excellence in pre‑ and post‑trade services, collaborating with Origination, Valuation, Middle and Back Office to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.

What We’ll Need From You

You are interested in Markets and determined to succeed in the field. We value a global perspective on the future of banking and an impact mindset.

  • Currently enrolled in a university that can provide a mandatory internship agreement as part of your graduation (Graduation Year 2026/2027) and possess a valid resident/work permit.
  • On track to graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Business or Engineering school.
  • Good understanding of finance and interest in Markets.
  • Prior experience in Financial Markets (advantageous).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of VBA and Python is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  • Intellectually curious and proactive in seeking new and creative ideas.
  • Self‑starter who thrives independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a commitment to personal growth, career development, mobility and flexibility.
  • Unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical decision‑making.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Depending on the specific position, a solid understanding of option pricing theory is required; prior experience in derivatives is advantageous.
