Marketing Ops – Outbound Platform (Business Strategy & Operations)
Responsibilities
- Operate Alan's messaging stack so that product and marketing teams can ship messages confidently without waiting for engineers.
- Act as a strategic partner for product, marketing, and growth teams; co‑owner outbound messaging strategy with PMMs, marketers, and product teams; set and enforce the messaging quality bar.
- Manage user routes, lifecycle definitions, and segmentation logic; monitor volume, frequency, and complaints across campaigns and back‑end emails.
- Own the messaging stack infrastructure: Customer.io contractualization, access management, automations, campaign lifecycle; back‑end triggered email governance; data model integrity and workspace health for 1.7 M profiles.
- Develop and maintain the messaging playbook; onboard and train crews on using the system and best practices; evangelise platform adoption across product, marketing, and growth.
Expected Outcomes (First Year)
- Establish a trusted messaging stack where Customer.io and back‑end emails operate as one governed system.
- Deliver a self‑serve platform that allows any Alaner to ship a message without engineer queueing.
- Define a clear lifecycle with documented recipient paths and integrated governance loops.
- Reduce communication pressure and monitor reach to avoid overwhelming members.
- Bridge Marketing and Acquisition teams with the Outbound platform.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in PMM, marketing ops, CRM ops, lifecycle marketing, or growth ops within a technology company.
- Strong product sense: identify pain points, translate problems into actionable improvements, and deliver value.
- Hands‑on experience with messaging platforms at scale (Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, Marketo, HubSpot, or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of CRM data models and data hygiene practices.
- Proficient in designing and maintaining lifecycle, routing, segmentation, and re‑engagement flows across multiple domains.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; interface with product and marketing teams.
- Analytical rigor: read platform and campaign data, surface anomalies, and prioritize based on evidence.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
