Marketing Director – Job Summary
Reporting to the Market VP, the marketing Director defines & recommends the Market strategy in line with Segment positioning and ensures strategy implementation with its global alignment. The main objectives are to ensure profitable growth while keeping strong Customer Loyalty on the long run. She/He anticipates the request of the Market and customers needs, defines and implements new product development, supports business Opportunities development and conversion, so to ensure the medium term sales development in line with business plan targets. She/He oversees and grows the market, consistently identifying revenue opportunities and managing consistent growth by securing new accounts and new applicative sub-segments. The role constantly interfaces with External Customers, co-suppliers and internal partners e.g. Product Manager, Technical Support, S&T, Communication, Industrial, Finance, supply chain, Business Development and Commercial Excellence to ensure full success of the mission.
Key responsibilities
- Market analysis: Analyze the market in his field, gathering all information. Manage customer portfolio accordingly for product and customer profitability.
- Competition watch and analysis; monitor Pricing Policy around the globe.
- Network: Develop and maintain a personal network of clients, suppliers, and organizations in the environment to promote Imerys image and reputation.
- Opportunity management: Coordinate the identification of new applications or new products to be introduced in existing clients or in new markets, follow the commercial approach and monitor results, in order to enlarge the market share of his portfolio.
- Sales enablers: Support External Communication in production of sales enablers, impacting tools and participation in trade shows and market events. Together with communication, propose adapted Branding Policy in line with customer segmentation.
- Lead and coach marketing team: Recruiting & promoting gender / nationality diversity, motivation & engagement, providing directions & conducting coaching sessions, regular feedback and call reviews.
- Performance management: Career development, conflict management, drives a performance culture within the team and develop a culture of customer centricity, hand in hand with the Commercial Excellence and HR functions.
- Apply & ensure application of "best-practice" commercial practices and processes; constantly assess and address potential skills gap and oversee up-skilling of the commercial team to develop their sales skills, to foster growth and be more customer centric.
- Ensure Marketing team active participation in all Sales and Marketing management routines, sales huddles, opportunities review.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or PhD in material science or chemistry, ideally completed by an MBA, or Master Degree/Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing or related field, with minimum of 7+ years of equivalent work-related experience in industrial marketing.
- Strong deep market and technical understanding of application (needs, production process, market structure, performance).
- Excellent business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels, and to influence others.
- Excellent leadership; project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong drive for results and strategic understanding.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Successful track record in senior marketing roles and creating marketing campaigns.
- Proven ability to plan and manage budgets.
- Ability to use common IT tools (Excel, Word, Gsuite, Web tools).
- Fluency in English (international environment).
