Marketing Director
Job Summary
Reporting to the Market VP, the Marketing Director defines and recommends the Market strategy in line with Segment positioning and ensures strategy implementation with global alignment. The main objectives are to ensure profitable growth while maintaining strong customer loyalty over the long run. She/He anticipates market and customer needs, defines and implements new product development, supports business opportunity development and conversion, ensuring medium‑term sales development in line with business plan targets. She/He oversees and grows the market, consistently identifying revenue opportunities and managing growth by securing new accounts and new applicative sub‑segments. The Marketing Director constantly interfaces with external customers, co‑suppliers and internal partners (Product Manager, Technical Support, S&T, Communication, Industrial, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, Commercial Excellence) to ensure mission success.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Market analysis: analyze the market in his field, gathering all information and managing customer portfolio accordingly for product and customer profitability.
- Competition watch and analysis.
- Monitor pricing policy around the globe.
- Network: develop and maintain his own network of clients, suppliers, and organizations in the environment to promote Imerys image and reputation.
- Opportunity management: coordinate the identification of new applications or new products to be introduced in existing clients or in new markets, follow the commercial approach and monitor results, enlarging the market share of his portfolio.
- Sales enablers: support external communication in production of sales enablers, impacting tools and participation of trade shows and market events. Together with communication, propose adapted branding policy in line with customer segmentation.

- Recruiting & promoting gender / nationality diversity.

- Applies & ensures application of best‑practice commercial practices and processes.
- Constantly assesses and addresses potential skills gap and oversees up‑skilling of the commercial team to develop their sales skills, fostering growth and being more customer centric.
- Ensures Marketing team active participation in all Sales and Marketing management routines, sales huddles, and opportunities review.
Job Specifications
Engineering degree or PhD in material science or chemistry, ideally completed by an MBA, or Master's/Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or related field, with minimum of 7+ years of equivalent work‑related experience in industrial marketing.
- Strong deep market and technical understanding of application (needs, production process, market structure, performance).
- Excellent business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels, and to influence others.
- Excellent leadership, project management, multitasking, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong drive for results.
- Strategic understanding.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Successful track record in senior marketing roles and creating marketing campaigns.
- Proven ability to plan and manage budgets.
